MM Traffic Processing Server

Introduction

MM TrafPro is a complete solution for processing traffic data especially mobile probe data. MM TrafPro collects (push or pull) data directly from the devices or via an intermediate server, processes the data, calculates the traveling speed of street links, optionally fuses the calculated informationi with external sources of traffic information if any, and outputs the processed information in standardized XML formats.

MM TrafPro is fast. It accepts real-time mobile probe data and delivers the processed result every minute. The result can be fed further to the map rendering software to create colored traffic map for end users or to systems that will broadcast the information to users in various means.

Input Data

 
In most cases, MM TrafPro accepts via TCP or UDP raw data from remote devices or servers in the following format, one line per each recoard of data:
 
UniqueID, Lat (degree), Lon (degree), speed (km/h), error (m), direction (degree clockwise from North), timestamp (seconds since 1970 UTC)

Remark:
  • Unique ID is in the form of "imei=<xxx>". xxx is an arbitrary string, optionally prefixed with some letters to indicate the data source
  • Speed and direction can be -1  means unknown value for example in case of the values contain unacceptable errors the device can choose to send -1 instead of the real values.
  • Timestamp is the number of seconds since Janauary 1, 1970 (UTC), for example, 1293070148, which is  02:09:08 of Dec 23, 2010 UTC or 09:09:08 of 23 Dec 2010 local Thailand time (GMT+7)

Customers

MM TrafPro is currently being used to process and fuse traffic data in Longdo own services whose result is visible at Longdo Traffic (http://traffic.longdo.com/) and Longdo Mobile (http://mobile.longdo.com/). MM TrafPro is also by Thailand iTic foundation (http://www.iticfoundation.org/) in processing all the traffic data.
